The Options dialog
The Options dialog lets you set a number of preferences affecting how WASP will process and show tags.
This dialog can be opened through the statusbar icon
or from the sidebar
menu.
- Licence
-
Lets you specify the email and license key received after your purchase.
- WASP Tag File
-
Always on: by default, WASP will store detected tags only when crawling
or scanning. Enabling this option will also log tags when browsing. This is especially useful if you want to test scenarios a workflow.
-
Project file: Specified the location of the database used to store detected tags. If you use WASP to validate multiple websites, you can use one WASP Tag File for each one.
- You can open or create a new WASP Tag File from here.
- Filtering
-
Your IP address: When testing a site you might want to exclude your own traffic to avoid inflating the stats. The IP address shown here is what you should enter as an exclusion filter if your web analytics solution allows it.
-
Modify User Agent string: WASP can self-identify itself by adding a string to the default browser User Agent. This can be used to set up a trafic exclusion rule if your web analytics solution allows it.
- Display
-
Display unencoded tags information: By default, WASP will show a more human-friendly breakdown of the tags in the sidebar. For example, instead of showing a string as "a%20string", WASP will show it as "a string".
It is recommended to leave this option active.
-
Enhanced sidebar view: WASP can show a en hanced break down of the tags for the most popular tools. It is recommended to leave this option active.
- Feedback
-
Send anonymous info: When WASP is active
and you visit a website, information about the domain and tools found on it are sent to contribute to the WASP master repository
used for Market Research. Only the domain name is sent, only for the first page view to a given site, and only if it's a public site (thus, this excludes what appears to be an intranet, IP addresses or a secured HTTPS connections).
