Installing WASP

Technical requirements

WASP closely integrates with Firefox to provide in situ analysis of web analytics tags. The WASP crawler also leverage the browser to make extensive use of computer resources such as memory, disk and network.

Supported browser
Firefox v3.0 or newer is required.
Note: At this time, support for Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Apple Safari is not planned.
Supported OS
Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, Apple Mac OS X
Note: Firefox also runs on Linux but WASP haven't been tested on it. In theory it should work fine.
Supported language
WASP is currently only available in English.

Installing & Upgrading

WASP install
Automated install
The easiest way to install WASP is to use Firefox and navigate to the installer page located on the official Mozilla addons page or the WASP website.

If installing from WebAnalyticsSolutionProfiler.com, you will be prompted to trust the installer.

Note: A number of sites are scavenging the web and distributing WASP without permission. Since the version being distributed on those site is most likely outdated and could have been altered, please make sure to install from one of the official distribution sites mentionned above.
Manual install
Firefox extensions are distributed as .XPI files. To do a manual install:
  1. Save the .XPI file to your desktop
  2. Start Firefox
  3. Drag & drop the .XPI file on top of the Firefox window
  4. This will trigger the extension install process.
  5. Restart Firefox
  6. Done.
Upgrading
Firefox will periodically check for updates to installed add-ons by doing a version check on the official Mozilla addons website. Whenever a new version is found you are invited to upgrade to the latest version.
Sometimes an upgrade will be available on the WASP website before being on the Mozilla Addons site. If you want the updated version sooner, you can upgrade from the WASP website.

Disabling WASP

WASP Uninstall

WASP can be momentarily disabled from the browser's Tools/Addons menu. Doing so will require a browser restart.

You can also temporarily disable WASP from the WASP status bar.

Uninstalling

Automated uninstall
Simply go under Tools/Addons and pick WASP, then click the "Uninstall" button.
Manual uninstall
